DayAnchor Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 30, 2026
DayAnchor is a daily wellness companion for adults 18 and older. It helps you build healthy routines with reminders, mood check-ins, and activity tracking. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information DayAnchor handles, how it is used, and your choices.
Age Restriction
DayAnchor is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed at children or minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use this app.
Your Data Stays on Your Device
DayAnchor stores all of your personal information — including reminders, wellness check-ins, mood entries, and emergency contacts — locally on your device only. We do not have servers that store your data. We cannot see, access, or share your personal information because it never leaves your phone.
Your data is encrypted on your device using industry-standard encryption (AES-256).
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
- We do not collect your reminder titles or schedules
- We do not collect your mood entries or wellness check-in responses
- We do not collect your emergency contact names or phone numbers
- We do not track your location
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties
- We do not display advertisements
Medication Search
When you search for a medication name, your search terms are sent to the National Library of Medicine's RxNorm API (rxnav.nlm.nih.gov) to find matching medications. No account or identity is attached to these searches. The RxNorm API is a free, public service operated by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. We do not store or log your searches on any server.
Caregiver Sharing
If you enable caregiver notifications, DayAnchor may compose SMS messages containing your mood or missed reminder information. These messages are created on your device and sent through your phone's built-in messaging app. You control which contacts receive notifications (per-contact toggle) and can choose to approve each message before it is sent. DayAnchor does not transmit this information through its own servers.
Anonymous Crash Reports
To keep DayAnchor running smoothly, we use a service called Sentry to automatically collect anonymous crash reports when the app encounters an error. These reports include:
- Device model (e.g., iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S24)
- Operating system and version (e.g., iOS 18.3, Android 15)
- App version number
- Technical error details (stack traces)
Crash reports never include your reminder titles, contact names, phone numbers, mood entries, or any other personal information. You can think of these reports as telling us "the app crashed on line 42 of screen X on an iPhone" — nothing about what you were reminding yourself to do.
Crash reports are processed by Sentry (sentry.io). You can read their privacy policy at https://sentry.io/privacy/.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
DayAnchor uses Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage data that helps us understand which features matter most. This data includes:
- Anonymous app instance identifier (not linked to your identity)
- Device model, operating system, and app version
- Feature interaction events (e.g., which feature interest cards you tap)
Analytics data never includes your name, email address, reminder titles, mood entries, or any other personal information. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID). Analytics data is not used for advertising or tracking across other apps.
Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase (firebase.google.com) and communicates with Google servers including app-measurement.com and firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com. You can read Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics collection is disabled in development builds and only active in the production release of DayAnchor.
In-App Feedback
If you choose to send feedback using the "Report a Problem" feature in Settings, your feedback is sent via your device's email app to support@dayanchor.app. The email may include a description you write, the type of issue, and basic device information (operating system and platform). Sending feedback is entirely voluntary and uses your own email account.
Notifications
DayAnchor requests permission to send you notifications so your reminders and wellness check-ins can alert you at the right time. Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to any external service.
You can manage or disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.
Your Rights
You can delete all your personal data at any time from Settings > Delete All My Data. This permanently removes all reminders, wellness check-ins, mood entries, and emergency contacts from your device.
For users in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR Articles 15–17).
For users in Canada, you have the right to access and correct your personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA Principle 9).
For users in Washington State, see our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you through an app update.
